While many couples fixate on planning an unforgettable wedding celebration, the latest nuptial trend is to devise an equally amazing proposal. Before even thinking of the wedding cake flavor and venue requirements, there must be a picture-perfect proposal, and what better way to ensure a beautiful memory than by selecting a breathtaking and romantic locale for the moment? As native San Franciscans can attest, the city by the bay has no shortage of idyllic locations for popping the question. Lauren Wakefield, Owner and Lead Coordinator of Ryder Sloan Events shares her top picks.

The Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park
Not every groom possesses the innate ability to compose sonnets on the spot, but they can invoke the romanticism of the famed playwright by proposing in Golden Gate Park's Shakespeare Garden. "The Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park is a quiet spot in the middle of the bustling park. With benches dedicated to loved ones and Shakespeare quotes along the back wall, it's an incredibly romantic and peaceful spot to pop the question. Bonus: you can get married here as well!" Wakefield recommends. Read real brides' reviews here!

The Lyon Street Steps
A momentous occasion like a proposal deserves a sweeping, cinematic vista to complement the occasion, and San Francisco's sloped terrain offers a wealth of hilltop perches perfect for the task. "There are also so many gorgeous staircases that help to navigate the hills of the city. The Lyon Street Steps in particular have a gorgeous landing with a heart sculpture and beautiful garden, views of the Golden Gate Bridge and [the] bright blue waters of the Bay." Wakefield advises.

Foreign Cinema Restaurant
Infuse your proposal with some silver screen magic by popping the question at San Francisco's popular Foreign Cinema Restaurant. "Foreign Cinema Restaurant has a private Director's Room you can rent upstairs that overlooks their gorgeous bistro lit courtyard where they play older movies projected against the back wall. Check the movie schedule for an old black and white romantic film to serve as the backdrop for such a special question!" Wakefield suggests. Read real brides' reviews here!

The Corona Heights Park
Nature-lovers will swoon for a proposal at The Corona Heights Park, where winding paths lead to viewpoints that boast panoramic vistas of the bay. "There are so many gorgeous views around this hilly city beyond just Twin Peaks. Some of my favorites are the Bernal Heights Hill and the Corona Heights Park. With the city's crazy hills and Bay and Ocean views, both would make for a dramatic proposal location," Wakefield says.
