Glamorous Palm Springs Wedding, Feather Place Cards

After months of covert emails and awkward eye contact across the office of the boutique food broker they both worked for in Dana Point, California, Josh and Christina found themselves at a bar together, and finally admitted that the chemistry between them was more than just good office teamwork. Dinners, movies, trips, and a few long-distance triumphs led to a September 2012 trip to Mexico, where Josh plied Christina with tacos and sunshine, then got down on one knee in the sand.

The couple spent a year working with Bash, Please to build upon the Viceroy Hotel's Palm Springs glamour, using black, gold and white, a little leather, lots of sequins, and a healthy dose of feathers to bring their vision to life. They mixed classic and modern details, creating a playful evening to celebrate their marriage with 110 guests (plus one dog!).

It all started with the invitations, combining modern fonts with a Deco feel.

Christina picked a full-skirted Vera Wang gown that was perfect for dancing. She paired it with gold Valentino pumps, topped with shimmering bows, and a white bouquet of dahlias, garden roses, and anemones. Josh wore a slim cut Ralph Lauren tuxedo and swanky Christian Louboutin loafers.

Bridesmaids looked chic in black Alfred Sung dresses in a variety of necklines, and carried smaller versions of the bride's bouquet. Before heading to the ceremony, the couple and their wedding party traipsed around the nearby desert for some stunning portraits.

The ceremony took place in a manicured garden, with the altar set beneath a mod tent. White balloons and black chairs dressed up the space.

Around the altar, geometric vessels overflowed with hydrangeas, garden roses anemones, and dahlias in white and cream.

The couple's pup, Ralph, was the ring bearer. He wore a gold collar and made his way down the feather-strewn aisle with one of the bridesmaids. The couple, who were married by the maid of honor's mother, wrote their own vows, promising to be devoted teammates and partners in adventure.

After their first kiss, Christina's mother surprised the couple by releasing white doves, an ode to the fact that Josh calls his now-wife "bird."

Pyramids held guests' escort cards, which led them to long tables dressed with linens covered in leather paillettes. Gold chargers and flatware brightened up the moody tables.

All the flowers were white, ranging from ranunculus and roses to mums and anemones. Strings of café lights hung between the trees and lit the meal of burrata bruschetta, roasted sea bass, and pan-seared gnocchi.

Christina and Josh made their entrance as confetti was shot from a cannon. "The venue doesn't allow sparklers, but our planner's idea to use a confetti cannon was even better!" says Christina. Before they ate, guests were treated to a surprise performance by the Aqualillies.

The cake had three flavors: cookie butter, funfetti, and white cake with strawberries. The black and gold starburst pattern was reminiscent of the couple's save-the-dates and invitations. And if cake wasn't enough, there were also mini pies, cupcakes, banana pudding shots, and cake pops on display in front of a wall covered in gold-dipped feathers.

For their first dance, Christina and Josh chose "Loving Cup" by the Rolling Stones, which they finished with a dramatic lift.

Everyone danced like crazy, then headed to an informal after-party in one of the hotel's gazebos. "My maid of honor busted out the Dom Perignon!" says Christina. The next morning, the couple met their guests at a morning-after brunch, then headed to the airport for a trip to Bali.

Says Christina, "Ask someone who really knows both of you to officiate. All the personal touches that our officiant was able to include made it even more meaningful."
