Marchesa's Bridal Suite: The A-List Label Joins St. Regis Hotels for a Luxe New Collection

Wedding Dresses

Every bride wants to feel like a VIP, and Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa are taking that concept to a new level with their latest — a capsule line of wedding gowns to be sold exclusively through St. Regis hotels. Included in the (ahem, $20,000 and up) price tag is a stay in the five-star chain's New York City flagship location, a personal fitting with the designers, and a bespoke dressing gown. So what does bridal fashion have to do with posh hotels? We found out.

About the Collaboration
"We chose four cities where St. Regis has iconic properties as inspiration — New York, Mumbai, Dubai, and Punta Mita, Mexico — because the locations are synonymous with luxury," says Chapman.

"And finding a gown to fit your venue is crucial," Craig insists. "Our 'New York' gown is for a city wedding, whether it's in a cathedral or a grand hotel. I'd love to walk down the aisle in that dramatic train! And 'Punta Mita' has draped tulle and beads. There's a lot going on for our throw-it-in-your-suitcase dress, but it would look beautiful on the beach."

Chapman reveals that their 'Mumbai' gown was actually inspired by traditional Indian embroidery. "It has a lot of cutouts, but it's easy. You could dance all night in it. "'Dubai' is body conscious. It will get you to the gym!"

The Marchesa Bride
"Our bride wants dreamy and ethereal," according to Craig. "She wants to make a bit of a statement."

How Designing Bridal Differs From Outfitting A-List Celebs
"The responsibility is bigger for a wedding because it's a picture you'll keep for the rest of your life," Chapman explains. "Also, brides are drawn to what they've always fantasized about, not necessarily what's in fashion."

The Bride They Would Have Loved to Dress
"Marchesa Luisa Casati," says Chapman. "The 20th-century Italian heiress who inspired our company."
