If you're a New York City bride in-the-know, chances are you've heard of Gabriella Risatti and her chic, namesake bridal salon. Her amazing Soho space caters to the style-obsessed New York City bride that craves well-curated gowns with amazing customer service, but also just wants to have fun when picking out her wedding dress! We adore Gabriella New York's laid-back, yet on-point vibe, so we were thrilled to sit down with her to "talk shop" about all things Manhattan weddings — from dresses and venues, to her likes and gripes on the NYC wedding scene.
Gabriella's Top Picks for an Amazing New York Bridal Shower
"Of course it depends on the number of people, but two of my favorite unexpected spots for bridal showers are the solarium at Margaux — the restaurant at the Marlton Hotel — and The Fat Radish on the Lower East Side, where I had my shower. The solarium at Margaux is extraordinary due to the amazing natural light. Even in the middle of winter you feel like you're outside. The Fat Radish is such a hip New York spot with an amazing brunch menu and plenty of fun cocktails to keep things festive. Your guests will be impressed with your ability to pick a spot they've never heard of!"
As For What to Wear?
"I love the idea of a white or ivory jumpsuit for a bridal shower at either location mentioned. A jumpsuit is a bit more fashion forward and edgy than a dress, which just feels right in NYC."
Rehearsal Dinner Locations Your Guests will Gush Over
"I've never been myself, but one of my lucky brides had her rehearsal dinner at Per Se, which sounded pretty amazing. For the rest of us who aren't quite so lucky, I absolutely love the carriage house at Palma in the Village or Lure in Soho. The carriage house at Palma is amazing because you truly feel like you've stepped back in time and are in someone's actual home right in New York City. Lure in Soho is a fun, upbeat spot in a killer New York location with unbelievable food. You can't go wrong in either."
Epic New York City Wedding Venues You Must See
"There is truly nothing like getting married in Central Park for a true New Yorker — even a downtown dweller like myself. There are several different locations within the park where you can get married and they are all special in their own way. What is more romantic than getting married in Central Park in the spring?! Another one of my very favorite spots for a wedding in New York is Angel Orensanz. It's just an absolutely unbelievable space unlike anything else in the city. I love the fact that it's on the Lower East Side — one of my favorite neighborhoods — and that it has such history in the city."
A Quintessential Spot for a Post-Wedding Brunch
The Metropolitan Club across from Central Park is a really special space and would be ideal for a wedding brunch. Very New York! I see a short white dress at The Metropolitan Club. "Lady Stardust" by Amy Kuschel feels timeless and beautiful, just like the venue."
