She may have been separated from her true love on the set of The Vampire Diaries, but in real life, actress Kayla Ewell on Saturday promised to spend forever with longtime love Tanner Novlan, People reports.

Surrounded by Ewell's fellow CW cast members, the couple exchanged vows at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles — a venue choice that was a "no brainer," the actress told People. "It has a lot of meaning to me because we spend a lot of family time there," she told the magazine. "It's just so beautiful and there's so much history there."

The pair asked Ewell's uncle to officiate their ceremony in front of 200 friends and family members. When Ewell walked down the aisle in her Monique Lhuillier gown, People reports, it was the first time the couple saw each other on their wedding day. "It was really important for both of us to have that real moment," Ewell explained.

While many cast members watched from their seats, at least one — former co-star Candice Accola — served as one of Ewell's bridesmaids, wearing a Jenny Yoo dress. "I was in her wedding," Ewell told People. "When you go through that with someone, you have a bond with them afterwards that is unlike any other feeling."

Nina Dobrev and her boyfriend Austin Stowell as well as Michael Trevino, Zach Roerig and Sara Canning also attended the couple's wedding. "They're really special," Ewell said. "It's been really fun, and it means a lot that they're all coming."

The couple kept their reception casual, People reports. "There's no formal sit-down," Novlan told the magazine before the big day. "We'll have stations with really great food, but it'll be a relaxed feel of 'enjoy yourself.' If you want to go get a drink at the bar, go! We want people to mingle."

To which Ewell added, "We want the atmosphere to be so relaxed and fun, so we have a live band and we've asked them to learn the 'Nae Nae.' When the ballroom doors open, we want to have drinks flowing, music going and everyone just partying."

When the couple wasn't doing the "Nae Nae," they were twirling to their first dance song: Alabama Shakes' "You Ain't Alone." They left Sunday, People reports, for their honeymoon in Belize.
