This Disney Bride Returns to Space Mountain Cancer-Free on Her First Wedding Anniversary

Now this is a first anniversary to remember! Keri and Tony said "I do" at Disneyland's Space Mountain last July. Rather than spending their year luxuriating in the excitement of their freshly-minted marriage, these newlyweds spent that time battling Keri's ovarian cancer. But, there is a happily ever after to this story: Keri beat her cancer, and Disney Weddings gave this couple an anniversary to remember in the same place they vowed to stick together "through sickness and health" the summer before.

Jenna Henderson of White Rabbit Photo Boutique photographed their wedding last year, and joined them for their VIP access to Tomorrowland to celebrate their marriage, and of course, Keri's good health.

"The amazing thing about Keri, is that she kept positive throughout the entire year," the photographer wrote on her blog of the bride. "When her friends and family use the hashtag #keristrong, they weren't kidding."

Aside from being their wedding venue, Space Mountain has a special significance for Keri. "Sometimes before her chemo, Tony or her parents would ask how she wanted to spend the day. If she felt up to it, she would tell them to drive her to Disneyland," Henderson explained. "If she was having a good day, she would go on Space Mountain."

To make their one-year anniversary even more special, the crew at Space Mountain apparently "threw in a little extra pixie dust for these two."

What an incredible story! Here's to many more happy (and healthy) years of marriage for these two!
