Real Brides Share Their Best Tips for Planning a Wedding in 3 Months or Less

Planning Tips

There's a reason most women give themselves an entire year to plan a wedding: it's a ton of work to say the least! Not only do venues book up far in advance, but there are also so many details to nail down you need all the time you can get. That's not to say a quickie wedding can't be pulled off though. With a little creativity and all hands on deck, you can create the wedding of your dreams in three months or less. Take it from these brides, who are dishing out their top tips and tricks for making it happen.

Don't be afraid to ask for help
"I'm a little bit of a control freak, but from my own experience, the best advice I can give is to be open to help from others. Having a wedding so soon means you'll really have to rely on friends and family you trust to handle various wedding-related details you don't have time for. Otherwise, you're going to be stressed out to the max!" — Penelope

Consider an all-inclusive wedding package
"Look for a venue that does the majority of the work for you! That way, the only things you have to worry about are design details, decorations, dresses, a color scheme, etc. The venue should give you a list of preferred vendors to pick from while they take care of the rest. When you're crunched for time, the all-inclusive route is the way to go." — Amy

Make a plan and stick to it
"Don't waiver or be wishy-washy on your vision for your big day. Find exactly what you need to plan it within your budget, and stop second-guessing yourself so much. If you originally wanted peonies as your main flower, but then see a gorgeous styled photo of hydrangeas on Pinterest and start doubting yourself, its going to take a whole lot longer to plan your wedding." — Katelyn

Tone down the DIY
"DIY projects are fun and can help cut costs. However, I'd definitely recommend not trying to DIY it all. First off, they're a huge time suck and when you only have three months or less to plan your wedding, too many DIY projects can be so overwhelming. Opt for one or two max, and get your bridesmaids or family to lend a helping hand. Trust me, you'll need it!" — Lynnette

Have it on an off day
"With such short notice, we had a lot of trouble finding a venue that wasn't booked up on a Saturday. We decided to look at both Sunday and Friday options instead and ended up going with a Friday because we wanted more of a party atmosphere. The good news is, this helped us save a few thousand bucks in vendor and venue costs." — Shaina

Shop off the rack
"After deciding on a venue, one of the first things I would do is hunt for your wedding dress! Luckily, there are so many places, online especially, you can order a dress from now and have it arrive within days. I actually found mine at a local bridal boutique and bought the sample at a 20% discount, wahoo! For your bridesmaids, pick a popular color and let your girls choose their own frock off the rack. It'll save you tons of time and stress." — Gabby
