The bride wore pink! Pierre Casiraghi, Princess Caroline's son and seventh in line to Monaco's throne, married Italian heiress Beatrice Borromeo on Saturday. Of all the details from the lavish royal affair, the most striking is that of Borromeo's dress for the civil ceremony at Salon des Glaces in the Pink Palace — she wore a custom pale pink Valentino gown.

According to Women's Wear Daily, Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli based the wedding dress off of a creation from the line's spring 2015 collection. With pink and gold lace and chiffon, floaty sleeves, and a flower crown, her look was surprisingly bohemian for such a grand affair. Just 70 guests attended the ceremony, but the real party started at the reception.

Borromeo changed into another Valentino creation, this one a white evening dress with silver embellishment, for the party at the Hôtel de Paris. Around 500 guests (including Prince Albert and Princess Charlene) attended the carnival-themed garden soiree in the gardens, decked out in their finest formalwear.

That extra pomp and circumstance makes sense, given the bride and groom's high pedigree. Casiraghi is the grandson of Princess Grace, and their wedding is seen as uniting two Italian noble families, according to People.

The duo began dating back in May 2008 and are expected to have a religious ceremony in Italy on August 1. The reason behind Lake Maggiore, the second location? Borromeo's family owns an island in it, of course!
