You've spent countless hours searching for the perfect destination, weighed the pros and cons of going on your honeymoon immediately and even mapped out how you'd like to spend every minute of each day while there. Okay, maybe not every minute, but let's just say you've definitely done your due diligence or, so you thought. From booking too soon to realizing that all-inclusive isn't for you, here's what real brides regret about their honeymoon.
Stressing out so much
"I don't regret the actual honeymoon, but I do regret the fact that we put so much pressure on ourselves to find the perfect place and plan the perfect trip. The process became more stressful that it was fun. My advice to brides is to pick somewhere you both love and will enjoy yourselves, as opposed to worrying about whether or not it's the most epic trip of your lives." — Naomi
"We were so exhausted from the wedding shenanigans that even though we normally love to pack our travel schedule full of activities, we kind of regretted doing this for our honeymoon. In hindsight, I wish we'd have spent the first third of our trip just lounging some place beautiful together instead of hitting the ground running trying to squeeze in a ton of sightseeing and being crazy busybodies. Relaxation was so necessary." — Alyssa
Spending too much money
"I kind of got swept up in the whole once in a lifetime honeymoon thing, and we wound up spending a couple thousand more than what we had initially wanted to. I know I shouldn't feel guilty because it's not like we went crazy overboard or anything, but then again, I also have a hard time splurging on 'luxuries' when there's so many other things, like a house, we should be saving up for." — Christa

Not delaying the honeymoon
"While we had an amazing time on our honeymoon, in retrospect, we were probably too tired from the wedding to really make the most of those first couple days. Not to mention the stress of having to get everything together for the wedding, then pack for the honeymoon on top of that. It was a lot all at once." — Raquel
Delaying the honeymoon
"We went on a mini-moon right after the wedding, which made waiting six months to go on our real honeymoon sting a little less. However, for whatever reason, it just felt wrong to be back at work the following week. I'll admit I cried like every day!" — Lori
Booking too soon
"We booked our honeymoon really far in advance and without putting as much thought into it as we probably should have. By the time I realized I wanted to do something different it was too late/costly to change our entire game plan. We still had a great time, thank goodness." — Jennifer
