Your first weeks and months of marriage are filled with newlywed bliss — and a few less pleasant scenarios you never saw coming. Here, five new husbands and wives open up about what annoyed them the most after marriage.

"I never realized just how much I'd miss having my own bathroom," says one wife. "I've been told the key to a happy marriage is two bathrooms — and a year into our marriage, I can't help but think that's very wise. From his whisker hairs always in our sink to him taking 20 minutes to go No. 2 while I desperately need to duck in and pee, it can get to be more than any woman can take!"

"Why does she have so much bathroom stuff?" her husband counters. "She has drawers and counters worth of things that I have to navigate through just to find my toothbrush. And that goes for the whole house: She has two closets, while I get two drawers in our dresser. It's like living in a danger zone of girly things!"

"Our DVR is filled with cartoons such as the Simpsons, sports programs, and outdoor documentaries," says another wife. "As someone who just cannot, despite her best efforts, get into those programs, I'm constantly annoyed when our DVR is filled with programs I won't watch. I want there to be room to record an old episode of Friends!"

"My wife is a cover hog," says one husband. "I can't count the number of nights I've woken up frozen in bed only to find the comforter and sheet tucked entirely around and under her body. Just once, I want to sleep through the night without shivering."

"My top complaint has nothing to do with my marriage and everything to do with how other people act once you're married," says another wife. "Everyone wants to know what your next big move is. Are you buying a house? When are you having children? Don't you think it's time to move back home? How about we just get to enjoy being married for a bit before we plan another huge life event?"
