Opt for stylish comfort over haute couture.
"Don't buy a dress because it is 'trendy' — find a timeless piece that you will look back 10, 20, 30 years from now and still love. And don't buy a dress you can't breathe in (even if its to die for) — find a dress that you can stand and dance all night long in."
Same goes for shoes.
"Looking back I would have definitely gone with different shoes. I should've followed my own advice and found a more comfortable pair. You weren't even able to see the shoes most of the time anyways, and I was so paranoid of falling when I was walking down the aisle!"
Play with your jewelry.
"I fell in love with a vintage brooch and added it to the side of my dress. I actually liked it so much that I had one for my hair and ordered earrings to match. I loved mixing the old and the new."
Embrace simple touches.
"My favorite wedding-day accessory was my mom's bracelet because it there's much meaning and history behind the piece. It it was such an honor for me to wear it as I walked down the aisle. It was the most delicate and understated piece from my wedding look, but it's the little touches that made my look so special."
Look for an alterations master.
"The best thing any bride can do is find an amazing tailor that they trust. A great tailor can make your dress look like it was made to fit you and only you!"
