Guests Dish on the Best Thing They Ever Ate at a Wedding

Food & Drink

Ah, wedding food. It can either be really, really memorable or really, really forgettable (and that's putting it nicely). Unfortunately, there's often not a lot of in between. While you, of course, want your guests to eat their hearts out on your big day, figuring out a menu that pleases all your family and friends' palettes can be near impossible. That's not to say it can't be done though! To help you figure out a killer menu, we consulted a few perpetual wedding guests to spill the beans on the best wedding meal they've ever eaten.

Family Style Italian
"At one backyard wedding I went to, the food was catered by a local Italian joint and boy was it amazing. Everything was served up family style, and there was more than enough spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, Italian sausage, salad and garlic bread to go around. They even had Italian soda! It worked perfect in the laid back atmosphere, and my mouth still salivates thinking about it." — Jessee

Locally Sourced Ingredients
"By far, the best wedding food we've had was in Hawaii. The ingredients were all locally sourced and grown. I'm a huge farm-to-table advocate, and always find it fun to try cuisine that's native to the area, particularly since this wedding was a destination wedding." — Kelly

Fresh Seafood
"Hands down, all you can eat shrimp and grilled oysters that were literally caught the morning-of! Plus, a pig roast, which sounds kind of gross, but I swear it was the best pork (slow-roasted, constantly basted and smoked) I've ever had." — Jill

Comfort Food
"I went to one wedding that served up all comfort food, and the macaroni and cheese was to die for! Seriously, it was amazing, especially considering the fact that there was bacon in it. The mashed potatoes also had bacon in them, which duh, delicious." — Vanessa

In-N-Out Food Truck
"A good friend of mine had an In-N-Out food truck at her wedding as a late night snack, and everyone, myself included, couldn't stop raving about it. It was a huge hit, and after a few cocktails, there's nothing more delicious than that burger." — Murielle

Mexican Fiesta
"At a Mexican-themed wedding I went to, they had a Mexican restaurant cater and everything, particularly the fish tacos, were out of this world. I might be a little biased though because Mexican food is my favorite!" — Ashton
