Anne Barge is a bridal designer known for classic femininity and timeless silhouettes. The sentimental designer (just wait until you hear about her mother's bridal portrait!) has expanded into several collections across price points — from Blue Willow Bride, to her namesake line Anne Barge Couture, to her show-stopping collection, Anne Barge Black Label. We caught up with Barge to hear about her inspiration process, her top styling tips for brides, and her dream celebrity client.

Barge's bridal collection was inspired by a romantic walk through a French garden.
"For Spring 2016, I was inspired by a daydream in the French countryside. We incorporated elements from some of the most famed gardens in France — Versailles, Luxembourg, and Monceau. The collection combines formality with fantasy, clean lines and floral appliqués, luxe beading and hues of dusty rose," she said. Barge explained that she, like so many other designers, finds inspiration all around her: "My design process is constantly evolving. I look for inspiration in everything I do, from the movies I watch, to the places I visit, and the people I love."

Her favorite part of being a bridal designer is...
"[I love] seeing her vision of how she imagined herself as a bride come true. We always design with the female figure in mind, and often ask brides what they love about their body, and go from there. Our bride comes in many shapes and sizes, and we're proud of that!"

While Barge defines her aesthetic as classic, she is loving one very of-the-moment trend.
When asked about her take on her favorite — and least favorite! — bridal trends, Barge explained her perspective. "My designs tend to be more classic. Trend is not a word that resonates with me! I do love a high-illusion neckline, which has gained a lot of popularity in recent years. The Anne Barge bride knows how to be sexy without showing too much."

Her favorite bride of all time isn't someone you know.
It's her own mother! "My mother's wedding portrait has inspired me since day one. She looked flawless! She had the most incredible oversized bouquet full of loose stephanotis, white roses, and feather ferns — a copy of her mother's bouquet in 1907. I would have given anything to see her in person that day."

Her dream celebrity client isn't engaged yet!
"I would love to dress Taylor Swift on her wedding day. To me, she is refined, elegant, and classic yet modern!' she noted.

Lastly, Barge's top three styling tips for brides on their big day are guaranteed to net some seriously gorgeous wedding photos.
"These tips are all for the photos! I mentioned my mother's wedding portrait is still on my vanity, and these pictures don't just last a lifetime. They are passed down from generation to generation — as they should be! First, bouquets should be held low at the hip so as not to hide the bodice of the gown and to make the waist visible at every angle. Second, go easy on the makeup! A little bit of color will keep you from looking washed out from flash photography. Finally, I find that hair loosely pulled up is universally flattering. It gives a natural look with the ease of having your hair out of your face and can easily incorporate a veil or accessory. It is also reminiscent of my favorite period, 1910 to 1920."
