Selecting music for your wedding is one of those engagement tasks that any couple can obsess over — the playlist should be romantic, but also fun and upbeat with nothing too sad or depressing. It's a delicate balance! So, it's no surprise that soulful crooners John Legend and Ed Sheeran top the charts of people's most popular wedding songs.
Spotify recently revealed the top tunes its users have been requested from over 400,000 wedding-themed playlists. On the streaming music service's "Most Popular Wedding Songs Globally" playlist, John Legend's "All of Me" came in at number one, while "Marry You" by Bruno Mars and "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran took the second and third spots.
And when it comes to a couple's first dance, Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" earned the number one spot on Spotify's "Most Popular First Dance Songs Globally" playlist. Etta James' classic ballad "At Last" took the number two spot, while Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" made number three.
Legend and Sheeran are experienced wedding singers. In March, Sheeran crashed a couple's wedding and, with guitar in hand, gave a surprise performance of his wedding-perfect hit during their first dance. And during Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's star-studded wedding last May, Legend performed "All of Me," which was also the song he sang at his own wedding to wife Chrissy Teigen in September 2013. Supermodel Teigen is featured in the "All of Me" music video, which gives a glimpse into the couple's adorable love life, including a sweet scene from their actual Lake Como wedding at the end of the video.
