The photo that roused an entire (Facebook) nation.
Canadian tourist Saber Miresmailli was riding in a London taxi a few weeks ago during his visit when, as he was moving, he spotted a sweet stolen moment between a newlywed husband and wife. The two lovebirds were caught kissing in front of Tower Bridge, one of London's most iconic sites. In the magic of the moment Miresmailli, an amateur photographer, snapped the once-in-a-lifetime shot. Once he realized what an incredible photo he had, he reached out to the Facebook community to locate the new Mr. and Mrs.
"A request to the Facebook Nation: I was on a moving car in London, UK on May 16, 2015 around 8PM when I saw this lovely couple," he wrote on his Facebook page. "They were alone and I didn't see any photographer with them. I managed to shoot this picture with them and the London Bridge in the back ground. I have the high quality picture and I love to find them and give it to them as a gift. Do you think you can share this and help me find them? Thanks!"
@SkintLondon that's my cousin Laura and her husband James!!— Tom Clegg (@cleggoland) June 2, 2015
Just a few days later, one Twitter user identified the couple as his cousin and her husband, who are currently honeymooning in Bali!
The cousin confirmed to multiple news sources on the social media outlet that the couple is, indeed, James and Laura.
Miresmailli wasn't sure at first, but just confirmed on his Facebook page, with a screenshot of the email the groom sent him, that it is indeed James and Laura and they will be receiving a high-res copy of the incredibly romantic photo.
This story proves, yet again, the power of social media for doing some good!
