From Beyoncé to Taylor Swift and Michelle Obama, it's hard to find a famous woman that Naeem Khan hasn't dressed. So, not surprisingly, when the designer launched his bridal collection in October of 2013, brides flocked to his signature collection to create their own red-carpet moment. Here, we catch up with Naeem Khan to talk all-things bridal.

Make no mistake about it, Naeem Khan loves designing bridal.
"I love designing bridal," said the designer. "I do not follow trends — I design dresses that are relevant to the times." The jet-setting designer explained his inspiration, noting that he draws much of his vision from his travels. "The world I travel is my inspiration. I name my dresses after cities that inspire me. The design process usually starts as a fantasy, with ideas that I dream of and visualize. These ideas become a reality by bringing various ingredients together, from the lifestyle of my bride, her age and sex appeal, to the textures of the finest fabrics and embroideries that we produce in my family factories in India. Then add about 90 days, and a few fashion sous chefs in the Naeem Khan studio, and the final gown is a dish of beauty, love and craftsmanship. The most recent bridal collection was inspired the classic beauty of a few countries, and Marie Antoinette blue."

Naeem Khan views designing bridal gowns as creating every woman's ultimate red-carpet moment.
"My favorite part of designing bridal is that I will be a part of the most important day in a woman's life. My work needs to make her feel sophisticated, glamorous, sexy, and comfortable. It's her ultimate (and happiest!) red-carpet moment. It's a dress she will remember for life."

His favorite trends?
"In terms of bridal trends, there are two ideas that I love. The first is a great evening tux in white," said the designer, in a nod to his roots as an assistant to Halston. "It's cool and modern. I also love short bridal dresses, which can be young and fun."

Naeem Khan's top styling tips for brides...
"It's best not to experiment on your wedding day. Do your hair in a way that you love and have done before. A classic chignon is always in fashion and always looks great. I always suggest matte, clean makeup in neutral shades. Lightly shadowed eyes with a natural or slightly colored lip. Strong colors can be overwhelming and overpower a bride's look. Also keep jewelry minimal," said the designer, which is great advice if you are wearing an embellished gown.

His dream bridal client also happens fashion's biggest risk taker.
"If I could design a wedding dress for any woman, it would be Rihanna. I would create an updated Grace Kelly gown with a long train, embroidered with paisleys and roses, with a long veil to match."
