If you and your fiancé are huge sports fans, you should take that into consideration when choosing your wedding date. After all, what are you going to do if your big day falls on the same day as the Superbowl?
While it's impossible to predict every throw down in sports, here's a handy list for 2016. And hey, let's just be thankful it's not a World Cup year!
February 7, 2016: The Super Bowl XLIX in Santa Clara, Calif.
Yes, that's a Sunday, but keep in mind that your out-of-town wedding guests may miss out on some of the Super Bowl festivities because they'll be traveling home from your festivities. It's also the 50th anniversary of the big game and the San Francisco area will be packed to the gills with even more tourists than usual.
March 17-20, 2016: The World Indoor Championships in Portland, Oreg.
For the first time in 30 years, this track and field championship lands on U.S. soil. Approximately 600 athletes will descend upon the Oregon Convention Center, along with their supporters, media, and production teams.

March 28-April 3, 2016: The ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston, Mass.
The TD Garden will host this global sporting event and Boston brides will want to be mindful of traffic, hotels getting booked up, and airline prices spiking.
April 4, 2016: The NCAA Men's Division Basketball Tournament Championship Game in Houston, Tex.
It's not so much this Monday night that may conflict with your wedding as it is the March Madness leading up to it. Avoid pre-wedding squabbles with your groom by scheduling last-minute prep so it doesn't conflict with your beloved brackets.
May 6-7, 2016: The Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Ky.
Serving mint juleps would be a lovely nod to this beloved weekend, but there's a good chance your cocktail hour on Saturday will be right around the televised timing of the big race. Luckily, it only lasts a couple minutes anyway.
May 29, 2016: The Indianapolis 500 in Indianapolis, Ind.
If you're a motorsports fan, this is probably just one of many important dates on your calendar. If you're not, and your wedding is in Indy during this weekend, consider this your warning.
Aug. 5-21, 2016: The Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro
The Women's Artistic Gymnastics meets are consistently one of the most-hyped events, but thankfully the team final is on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and the All-Around final is on Thursday, Aug. 11. The full competition schedule can be found here if you want to check to see which events are scheduled for your wedding date.
Nov. 6, 2016: The New York Marathon in New York, N.Y.
NYC is so big and there are always so many tourists that this Sunday event likely won't impact your city wedding. But it's worth noting in case your hotel, post-wedding brunch, or other venues are anywhere near the route.
