Sure, you may think your wedding dress is probably the most important style decision you'll make for your big day, but how you choose to accessorize it is just as important. A belt, necklace, veil, even undergarment, can make or break your dream dress. Which is exactly why we enlisted the help of celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson for her best accessory tips. From finding a bra that fits to the slimming effects of earrings, here's Patrickson's top four wedding style tips. You'll be ready to walk down the aisle in no time!
Get the undergarments right.
The correct bra can make you look a size smaller. (If it fits, the band won't dig into your back.) To smooth your waist and hips without lines, try Spanx Shape My Day High-Waisted Mid-Thigh shorts ($68; spanx.com).
Wear accessories that flatter.
Did you know a cathedral-length veil will elongate your frame? To lengthen your neck, swap out studs for drop earrings. And never underestimate the power of a sash or belt, which highlights your leanest point.
Boost your glow.
Self-tanner is a white dress's secret weapon. Practice two weeks ahead, then get lightly bronzed two nights before the wedding so the color settles.
Practice your pose in the mirror.
Stand tall with your shoulders back and twist your body at a 45 degree angle to narrow your hips. Then cross your ankles, a simple step that makes legs look long and hips seem slimmer. (That's why every celeb does it.) Don't forget to smile!
