Is Ed Sheeran the biggest romantic in the music industry? He accepted a sick fan's proposal and crashed a couple's wedding to perform his hit song "Thinking Out Loud," but he took things to the next level at his concert in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. One lucky fan got to propose to his girlfriend on stage, with a little bit of Sheeran's help!
The Irish singer was performing his song "All of the Stars" when he noticed a fan who had been waving a sign from the second row the whole time. Sheeran invited the lucky fan and his girlfriend up to the stage, and that's when the magic happens.
At around 3:40 in the video above, you can hear the fan start his proposal spiel with, "Just thinking out loud here, but..." a reference to Sheeran's wildly popular first-dance song. Sheeran takes a seat stage left of the action, and watches the guy pop the question to his "so amazing, so talented, and so beautiful, inside and out" love. After declaring that he "found love, right where we are" (another Sheeran song reference, naturally), the fan gets down on one knee. The crowd, of course, loves it! The cheers, awws, and tears were loud enough to mask the lucky lady's answer, but she accepted the engagement ring.
The only person as emotional as the newly betrothed couple? Sheeran himself! He took to Twitter this morning to share this video and the news that he (discreetly) cried a bit.
