Boho brides are known for adding cool, personalized touches to their wedding-planning details, from wearing one-of-kind vintage wedding dresses to hosting post-ceremony backyard bashes. To help you infuse that bohemian touch into your nuptials, we chat with the ultimate boho girl Molly Guy of NYC's Stone Fox Bride, who shares how you could make your special day truly unique with these expert tips.
1. The Perfect Dress
"Whether it's a bustier gown or a loose flowing cotton frock, make sure that whatever you choose to wear feels 100 percent like an honest reflection of your personal style," recommends Molly.
2. A Signature Scent
"You'll always remember the yummy fragrance you wore on your wedding day — just one whiff will take you back to walking down the aisle," the creative director says. "Essential oils like lavender or geranium are aromatic and super calming, while a fragrance like Ralph Lauren Fragrance's Midnight Romance has a more lush scent with notes of pink peony and black vanilla."
3. Comfy shoes
"You might have your heart set on the perfect pair of sky-high stilettos, but if you can't bear the (no pun intended!) blistering thought of wearing them all night you're much better off with a cool kitten heel heel or low strappy sandal," she notes.
4. Flower girls
You may be the star of your big day, but there are some other people you should share the spotlight with according to Molly. She says, "Few things are as perfect and precious than the sight of wee fox little girls strolling at their own pace leaving a trail of aromatic petals in their wake."
5. Peace of Mind
Molly's last must-have extends to all types of brides, saying, "Don't forget to take a few minutes in the morning to sit by yourself, deep breathe and get your gratitude on. Your wedding will definitely unfold at a crazy, chaotic pace; the goal is for you to be present at every moment and feel the joy."
