For Oscar de la Renta's first collection without its iconic leader, Peter Copping, who's now at the helm, kept Oscar's legacy alive with yet another insanely gorgeous bridal collection. Staying true to the line's sophisticated silhouettes and elegant details, the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 bridal collection was utterly ladylike, and yet, at the same time, there were some uniquely modern elements that left us pleasantly surprised.
Sending some of Oscar de la Renta's signature ball gowns down the runway, Copping played with texture, light, and depth. One ball gown had the lightest tufts of tulle ruffles on its skirt, while another boasted a form-fitting corset bodice with a sheer layer of floral tulle topping its large A-line skirt. Of course, it wouldn't be an Oscar show without one larger-than-life ball gown stealing the show, which one tiered tulle number totally did.
There was also a glistening sheath that featured some twinkling bead work and an-ultra modern geometric high-neck and semi-see through skirt. (Sienna Miller wore the same dress in black to the 2015 Oscars!) While these details called upon contemporary trends, they were executed to look absolutely timeless.
