Watch a Pilot Propose to His Flight Attendant Girlfriend Midair!

Talk about taking proposals to new heights! An Alaskan Airlines flight attendant got the surprise of a lifetime when her pilot boyfriend popped the question at 34,000 feet during a flight between Seattle and Juneau on March 18.

According to People, Brandy Hollenbeck and Eric Greener met in an airport terminal and immediately connected. "I happened to meet this beautiful blond flight attendant, who was sitting there... chowing down on a double cheeseburger," Greener says over the airplane intercom in the video above. "All I could think, folks, was, 'My gosh, a flight attendant who has the courage to eat a cheeseburger in the terminal is a woman to know.'"

Greener then appears at the end of the aisle sharing, "We hit it off, I got her number and I met the woman of my dreams at 34,00 feet. So I figure it's time to continue our lives at 34,000 feet."

As you can imagine, Hollenbeck happily accepted the proposal. But how did the romantic pilot pull it off? A blog post from the airline explains that Greener called Hollenbeck's fellow flight attendants at midnight the evening before the proposal and worked up a plan so that he could sneak on into the flight deck jump seat without the bride-to-be seeing him. "We tried to keep her busy in the back of the plane during boarding so she wouldn't see Eric board," RieAnn Fullwood, another flight attendant, said.

While Greener began telling their love story, Hollenbeck continued to serve coffee, hardly aware of what was happening. "At one point I thought, 'Someone up there is telling my love story!' But I just kept serving coffee," she recalls.

The surprised passengers took in the entire romantic event, with some even becoming emotional over the mile-high proposal. "I'm a Gold (frequent flyer) and I've never seen anything like that!" one passenger told the airline.
