Being in someone's bridal party is a hefty expense. No matter what type of dress or bachelorette party you throw, you're still in deep for at least the engagement party and present, the shower and present, bachelorette party, bridesmaid dress, and, of course, the wedding gift. With all these events and ensembles that need funding, how much should you spend on the bride's wedding gift? Read on to find out!
Whether your wedding your friend is throwing an outlandish destination wedding or a DIY bash at home, being a bridesmaid can get costly. Of course, you want to be there for your friend on her big day and make sure she gets everything she's ever wanted so you're happy to do these nice gestures for her (you wouldn't agree to be a bridesmaid otherwise!). But when it comes time to purchase her and her soon-to-be-hubby a wedding gift, you're bank account just might be a little dry.

The amount you choose to spend is completely dependent on what you you feel comfortable shelling out. The benefit of being a bridesmaid, is that you have a set group you can split the costs with. If the other 'maids want to purchase individual gifts, then go with something sentimental if you're strapped for cash. The bride will 1) be receiving plenty of gifts off her registry from other guests and 2) will already be so appreciative for all the work (and money) you've already put towards her wedding. You can also always opt for the least expensive item on the registry and add a sentimental touch if you're nervous about it not being enough, but again, no matter what you give she'll appreciate because it came from the heart!
