Remember when escort cards used to be simple, folded cards with printed names and table assignments at every wedding across the board? Yeah, so do we. Even though we still love the classics, it's even more fun to see how creative brides and grooms get with every detail, including these formerly basic pieces of paper! For those not in the know, escort cards inform guests of which table they should be looking for in your reception area. Since they're often displayed at the front of the reception space, many couples personalize this whole element to clue guests in on what kind of wedding they can expect! We asked our Facebook followers to share photos of how they mixed it up with their escort cards, and these are our favorites.
1. Put a cork in it.
Why not hand out escort cards that can double as a fun souvenir? Bride Erin Payne created a board of cork magnets inscribed with each guest's name and table number — we're sure guests put them right up on their fridges after the wedding.
2. A bubbly idea.
When in doubt, theme your escort cards (or favors, or anything, really) to alcohol. Bride Carlisha Magnarella had the right idea with this pretty display — inscribed butterflies on champagne flutes! The glasses were filled with bubbly as the guests entered the reception.
3. The importance of being a good sport.
We're sure bride Stephanie Zmudzien's husband had a hand in coming up with this festive idea! She had guests' names and tables printed on fake Boston Bruins tickets.
4. A jar-ring display.
The best part about a unique escort card is that it becomes a personalized gift for guests, something that everyone likes. Case in point: Bride Krystal Williams's etched jars (with cute striped straws!), that serve a purpose and can become a personal glass for the future.
