Over the past two days, we at BRIDES have taken a stand for women everywhere, thanks to the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation's "No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project." Though women's rights is always a pertinent issue, yesterday and today created watermarks in how far we can go to raise awareness for gender equality.

Yesterday, for International Women's day, we issued a special edition of our April/May cover on our website and across our social media accounts that replaced our model with the URL for the brand-new website Not-There.org to draw attention to the fact that women are "not there" in terms of rights.

Today, we joined fellow Condé Nast magazines and other supporters of the project at "Not There Yet: A Data Driven Analysis of Gender Equality" to learn more about the statistics that make No Ceilings's purpose so important. What we found, thanks to speakers like Goldiblox founder Debbie Sterling, Melinda Gates, the president of Liberia, and America Ferrera, in addition to the results of the new "The Full Participation Report", was staggering. Some of our biggest takeaways were:

• One in four girls is married before her 18th birthday.

• Maternal mortality has been cut in half since 1995.

• Nearly 225 million women lack access to family planning.

• The U.S. is one of nine countries in the world that doesn't provide for paid maternity leave.

• Women represent only 5 percent of Fortune 500 companies.

There's more to the story than just these facts. Please visit Not-There.org to explore the interactive data created by No Ceilings. We hope that it will inspire our generation to take action towards equality.
