Well, this takes the idea of a sweet proposal to a whole new level. If you already have a toothache from the details of Lady Gaga's Valentine's Day engagement to Taylor Kinney, we suggest you stop reading now.

As it turns out, when the singer said "yes" to Kinney's proposal, she still hadn't seen her incredible 6-carat heart-shaped diamond ring. Instead, Kinney got down on one knee (seriously, the Chicago Fire actor popped the question on bended knee!) and presented his future wife with a piece of candy bling.

"First he gave me a Ring Pop," Lady Gaga told Access Hollywood. "That was kind of amazing and I was crying, I was so excited. I said, 'Yes!' right away and then he pulled out the heart-shape diamond. First it was candy. I was happy with the candy."

Despite being more than pleased with Kinney's edible token of affection, we're fairly certain she was even more excited when he presented her with a one-of-a-kind Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring, complete with the couple's initials in micropave diamonds.

Although her husband-to-be couldn't join her for the 87th Annual Academy Awards, where she belted out her own Sound of Music tribute, they were still arguably one of the more adorable couples of the night. "It makes everything better," she said of being engaged to Kinney. "When you're in love and have love it makes everything better."

While she admitted that she and Kinney hadn't yet started to think about their wedding plans, Lady Gaga was channeling an unmistakable bridal aesthetic on the Oscars red carpet. Her white Azzedine Alaïa gown featured a show-stopping cathedral-length train and beautiful beadwork details. (But if she dons a similar style for her wedding day, we hope she leaves the red gloves at home!)
