Redemption at last! Jason and Molly Mesnick are often touted as one of the Bachelor franchise's most successful love stories (they're now married with a daughter), but you may remember that when they first found each other it was actually quite scandalous. Why? Jason gave his final rose to Melissa Rycroft — not Molly — and broke off his engagement to her during the After the Final Rose special, forever vilifying his Bachelor run.
Because Molly was the runner-up, she didn't receive the famed Neil Lane ring every affianced Bachelor contestant gets. Now, five years later, Jason is making it up to her with some brand-new Neil Lane bling in honor of their fifth anniversary!
"Molly was the only one who didn't have a ring of mine and Jason really wanted to change that," Neil Lane told People after designing the upgraded sparkler Mesnick gave his wife as a surprise for their fifth anniversary.
The ring is a 2.5 oval-cut stunner set in a platinum double-halo, while the band is rose gold. "Molly is very sweet and feminine and the rose gold is so romantic," the celebrity jewelry said of his latest design. "They're one of the nicest, sweetest couples I know and he's madly in love with her. This was such a sweet way to celebrate their love and marriage."
"I am just beyond thrilled that Molly finally gets her Neil Lane ring!" Mesnick chimed in of his anniversary surprise. "Women who receive a ring from him on The Bachelor — or away from the show — know how truly fortunate they are. I am [so happy] to be able to give Molly this ring for our five year anniversary."
