Tomasina and James met in the most romantic, California-chic way possible: he was the executive chef at the Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, and she swooned over his food — and, later, over him. When they began planning their October 2013 wedding, they knew they wanted both a breathtaking California view and an unforgettable, foodie-worthy meal. Their intimate mountaintop reception in Carmel was exactly the beautiful, delicious affair they'd hope for, and with help from Bash, Please and Sweet Marie Designs, their early fall wedding became even more amazing.

Tomasina and James wanted their wedding to feel like a mini-vacation for their guests. When they found the Point Lobos Ridge Estate, a private home on Carmel's Point Lobos Ridge, surrounded by ocean views and picturesque, low-hanging clouds, they knew it would capture the vibe they were going for. Their beautiful invitations by Pitbulls and Posies helped entice guests to a trip up the mountain.
We love everything about Tomasina's wedding-day look — her beaded Jenny Packham dress, her gorgeous fur jacket — but we'll never stop swooning over the lush burgundy peonies in her bouquet.
Tomasina arrived at their Catholic ceremony at the Carmel Mission in a vintage Rolls Royce.
At their sunset reception, rich fall flowers mingled with vintage gold dinnerware and long-stemmed candles to create a magical, ultra-romantic feel. As the sun began to dip over the mountains, clouds rolled in over the ocean, making the couple's 65 guests feel like they were dining above the clouds. We can't think of a more beautiful way to dig in!
Tomasina and James served artisanal remixes of favorites like chicken and waffles and grilled cheese with tomato, followed by ricotta ravioli, grilled short ribs and jidori chicken (a special free-range chicken that they served cooked sous vide). In lieu of a groom's cake, the couple served a towering "cheese cake" featuring wheels of some of their favorite varieties. Oh, and did we mention the make-your-own Champagne cocktail bar?
Tomasina and James' funfetti wedding cake was decorated with succulents. After their wedding, the two honeymooned in St. Lucia, and in the year since have been jet-setting, cooking and eating delicious food, and enjoying married life with their dog Freckles.
