Unfortunately, we've learned that doing grown-up things — like getting married — doesn't magically make blemishes disappear. That's why effective acne-fighting products are the MVPs in your pre-wedding skincare regimen. (Also helpful in combating acne? A healthy diet, but you can read this for the spiel on that.) Here, we present to you editor-tested products — all from the drugstore! — that will help eradicate pre-wedding breakouts.

Clean & Clear Persa-Gel:
We don't know how this works better than the other benzoyl peroxide products we've tried, it just....does. Seriously. While experiencing some particularly nasty breakouts, our tester smoothed this cream all over her face at night and woke up to find she had significantly less redness and her blemishes were already shriveling up. "The only drawback is that it can leave your skin really, really dry," she says. "I had to slather on moisturizer, but it was worth it." $6.99, available at Ulta

Bioré Self-Heating One-Minute Mask:
You know those days when you're just feeling extra oily? This charcoal mask will get the gunk off your face and — at the risk of sounding like a commercial — will make you feel fresh and clean. Massage it onto wet skin for about a minute, then rinse off with water. "It heats up and has a tingling, refreshing sensation, so it was fun to use," our tester says. "My pores looked smaller and more refined, too." $7.19, available at drugstore.com

Noxzema Ultimate Clear Anti-Blemish Pads:
If benzoyl peroxide is too strong for your skin, you can use these salicylic acid-soaked pads morning and night to help get rid of existing breakouts and prevent new ones. "These didn't dry out my face or irritate my skin, and they seemed to keep oil away, too," our tester says. "Plus, they got rid of makeup that my cleanser didn't wash away," $3.99, available at drugstore.com

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash:
There's a reason this cleanser has been around since we were in middle school: It works. The salicylic acid formula is great for daily maintenance, helping to prevent breakouts without stripping your skin. "It also, surprisingly, was effective at taking off my foundation," our tester says. And is it just us, or are you also nostalgic for that classic Neutrogena scent? $4.99, available at Target

Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Treatment Lotion Face, Chest & Back:
It's one thing to manage blemishes on your pretty little visage, but for your wedding, you have to be sure your chest and back are in tip-top condition, too. (And, if you haven't noticed, blemishes that make an appearance on your body are often harder to get rid of than those on your face.) This lotion is specifically formulated to help with those stubborn areas. Our tester used this to blast a big zit on her shoulder, and while it's not completely gone, after three days of application, she's this close to victory. $10.99, available at drugstore.com
