Whether they're hand-written or traditional, we just love hearing how and why brides and grooms picked their wedding vows. As couples get more and more creative by incorporating movie quotes, poems, and other pop-culture references, we reached out to our Facebook audience to find out their sources of inspiration. Read on to see some of our favorite responses, from sports team jokes to nerdy inside jokes.

"We wrote our own vows completely but a crowd pleaser was my 'I vow to root for the Saints as long as they aren't playing the Bengals.'" — Ashley Merritt

"I referenced the olive theory from How I Met Your Mother in the vows I made to my husband. My love of olives and his hatred of olives is part of what makes us work so well together. While sometimes it's practically like we're the same person, it's our difference that help strength our relationship." — Brianna Burns Wallace

"I wrote a poem. It's integrated with all of our favorite movie couple quotes that we say to each other." — Lindsey Dakota Spencer

"We took traditional vows, but added in two blank lines throughout to personalize them; We printed out the vows, with the blank space, and we each got our own to fill in those blanks, but didn't share them with each other until the ceremony. Our personal lines were such as 'I promise to do the dishes, but only when we get a dishwasher' and 'I promise to always try to keep my car clean.'" — Kaitlin Bean

"We wrote our own but at the end we both quoted John Legend's song 'All of Me,' saying, 'All of me loves all of you. Love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections. Give your all to me. I'll give my all to you. You're my end and my beginning. Even when I lose I'm winning, 'cause I give you all of me and you give me all of you.' This was our first dance song." — Klarissa Marroquin

"I used nerdy references like d20 and also talked about how we met on OkCupid." — Brenda Gibbner
