A Glamorous Mountain Wedding in Bachelor Gulch, Colorado

Real Weddings

After Justin proposed to Ashley during a horse-and-carriage ride surrounded by Christmas lights in December of 2012, the couple knew that they'd need to head up the Rockies to Colorado for their wedding. "My family loves visiting Beaver Creek in the summer, and Justin and I wanted a destination wedding, so it seemed like the perfect place," says Ashley. So on July 27th, 2013, 190 guests watched the couple say "I do" on the Skier Bridge at the Ritz-Carlton in Bachelor Gulch. The theme? Contemporary elegance with a mountain spin, brought to life by Bella Design and Planning, all photographed by Jenna Walker Photography.

Ashley found her dress on a shopping trip with her mom, sister, and a few friends. "We had brunch and champagne, then went shopping," she remembers. The bride picked an ivory chiffon mermaid gown designed by Monique Lhuillier, which she accented with a beaded belt.

The bridesmaids wore champagne chiffon gowns by Bill Levkoff. All the women carried blush and ivory bouquets of roses, calla lilies, and proteas.

Justin and Ashley exchanged vows beneath a wooden altar decorated with white roses and calla lilies and soft green air plants. The aisle, covered in white rose petals, gave way to a beautiful mountain view.

Inside the hotel's ballroom, guests sat at a mix of round and rectangular tables topped with blush and cream linens. Clusters of apophyllite gems and antlers were mixed in with soft pink arrangements. "Choosing the menu was the easiest part of planning," says Ashley, who decided on stations of crab cake, ahi tuna, and portobello sliders, carved beef tenderloin, and smoked salmon.

"Justin and I peeked into the reception while our guests were at cocktail hour, and we were amazed," Ashley says.

After dinner, the newlyweds cut into a four-tiered cake that featured vanilla cake with Grand Marnier cream and fresh strawberries, as well as chocolate cake with cappuccino praline and Vietnamese cinnamon buttercreams.

After the reception, the couple treated guests to a late-night after party with a DJ, spiked milkshakes, and grilled cheese. Says Ashley, "The end of the night was all about our friends!"
