Morgan and Johnnie White, III met in their college cafeteria in North Carolina in 2005, after he asked her to settle a debate about whether Jay Z or Nas was a better rapper. The born-and-bred New York girl gave Johnnie and his friends a piece of her mind and instantly became part of the guys' group. The duo grew closer over late-night games of Monopoly and, after a trip to the North Carolina State Fair, the pair finally made things official.

Nine years later, in July of 2013, Johnnie proposed during a trip to St. Maarten with Morgan's family, popping the question on a jet-ski in the middle of the ocean. "Her face lit up like scoreboard on a game-winning shot," Johnnie says. The following spring, they tied the knot at Insignia Steakhouse in Smithtown, NY on March 30, 2014, then set sail on an intimate cruise in New York Harbor, photographed by Olli Studio.

Morgan designed her wedding dress and veil with the help of a tailor. "I was tired of seeing the same strapless and lace styles," she says. "I knew I wanted something simply classic and naturally effortless." The result was a long-sleeved, boat-neck gown with sharp, clean lines and no embellishments. For the reception, she slipped into a cap sleeve silk-chiffon dress from J.Crew.

The groom chose a shawl collar tuxedo, which he paired with sleek suede smoking slippers. To complement their monochromatic vision, the couple asked the wedding party to don black cocktail dresses and suits.

Morgan carried a bouquet of cream roses and her mother walked her down the aisle to Baby Face's "You Are So Beautiful." The couple exchanged heartfelt, self-written vows that touched on the nearly ten years they'd been together.

At the reception, guests dined on an ocean-inspired meal of tuna tartare, lobster bisque, and grilled salmon before the newlyweds cut into a three-tiered strawberry shortcake and dulce de leche cake. The dinner reception was followed by an intimate after party aboard a yacht that cruised through New York Harbor, with Lady Liberty watching over the newlyweds.
