A prenuptial agreement can be a major point of contention between engaged couples, but for some, it's nothing more than a documented show of faith. So when it came time for Gabrielle Union and her now-husband Dwyane Wade to discuss this stress-inducing legal paper, the star only had one thing to say: Bring it on.

In fact, Union was the driving force behind the pair drafting up the doc before the big day last August! According to Us Weekly, she chose to ask Wade for a pre-nup for several reasons. In early 2014, the star appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show and jokes, "I've never seen Dwyane balance a checkbook. I have to protect my stuff."

But the real reason she was all for creating what can be a very contentious legal document? She wanted to be sure everyone knew she was with Wade for love rather than fame. "For women in Hollywood, when they're coupling, everything is about the brand. Everything is about latching on to a rising star, so you can kick your heels up. That's never been my story, ever," she told Yahoo Style. "I make sure to let people know all of the hard work that's gone into my career. Now that it's time to get married to a man who happens to play basketball and has done well for himself, I want to make it clear that I have in no way hitched my wagon to his star. I have my own wagon and star."

It's clear that the pre-nup was just a formality for these two and has caused no ripples in their happy relationship. In November Union shared that the couple has been enjoying a relatively normal, quiet life since their lavish Miami wedding. "Married life is good. We have a lot of fun," Union said at the time. "A lot of it is about TV. We are obsessed about HGTV."
