The holiday season is upon us and though it's a time to give thanks and spend time with loved ones, all of the holiday parties, gift purchasing, and planning can sometimes lead us to ignore the man closest to us. While you're taking a minute to relax and keep your head above water, make sure you take a few moments to thank your husband or fiancé! If you cannot possibly think of how to do that (we know your brain is nearing holiday overload) here are five small ways to show him that he's the only one for you.

Give him a massage.
Everyone is at their max by the time the holidays roll around, so show your man a bit of appreciation with a shoulder, hand, or foot massage. By now, you already know that men love being cared for and he'll really enjoy the intimate gesture that will release his stress and yours as well.

Take him by surprise with a small gift before Christmas.
The spirit of gift giving is one that should always be present in your marriage. Naturally, this gift does not have to be incredibly expensive or grandiose, but instead can be small and thoughtful — small enough to fit into his coat pocket or even just picking up an aged bottle of his favorite cognac.

Do all the work in the bedroom for a few nights.
This is usually the place where you work on pleasing one another, but demand he unwind and delight in you doing all of the work for the change. You can even ask for a few of his current desires and play them out.

Send him a love letter.
Take some time to write down at least five reasons your love makes your heart flutter time and time again. It's something he can read over and over (no matter what time of year) and it will give him a little boost as a reminder of just how much you cherish him.

Prepare his favorite meal.
You can never go wrong with a quiet dinner for two that you know he's sure to love. The age-old saying that a man's heart is through his stomach is still very real in 2014.
