Whether you're planning to have a small wedding or a big wedding, deciding who you want to invite can be a little more than overwhelming — especially if you have your parents pressuring you to invite more people than you originally planned. Do you have to indulge all of their requests or is it ok to narrow down?
Finalizing your wedding-guest list can be one of the most stressful parts of planning. You know who you want to invite, but apparently your parents do too. This is your wedding, so don't feel obligated to invite someone just because your parents want you to. Sometimes it's not even an option, depending on budgeting and venue restrictions on guests.
Talk to your parents about the situation and see if you really have to invite all of those people; compromise with them. Let them know that you and your fiancé already have a set number of guests to invite. Also talk with your fiancé to decide how many people your parents (and his parents) can invite. This way, your parents can still invite who they really want to be there versus wanting everyone to be there.
Remember: If they're helping to pay for the wedding, then they do deserve to have a say in who attends!
