Former 'NSYNC member Lance Bass is marrying his fiancé Michael Turchin on December 20 after not one, but two proposals! A 90-minute televised E! special dubbed Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding will air on February 5 at 8:00pm ET/PT, but until then, Lance is giving us the inside scoop on his relationship, the big day, and what's in store for the couple's future!
Planning my wedding has been a little stressful, but it's also been really fun. Now, if you ask our planners, they'll probably tell you a different story. Sharon Sacks, who did Kim and Kanye's wedding, is our planner. And though Michael and I are the decision makers, we've also learned to trust Sharon and her amazing team. I've been picky about the entertainment and music, while Michael is more focused on the aesthetics, flowers, and overall vibe, but I'm happy to say neither of us has been a groomzilla.
We're finally tying the knot after dating for four years this Saturday, but here's a sneak peek at what you can expect from our blowout celebration.
We've chosen colors like dark reds and purples with pops of lime green — it's going to be very opulent and royal.
The Dress Code
Since we're planning this over-the-top party, we felt like a dress code would be a fun way to bring the event to the next level — but in the best way possible. We've asked everyone to come dressed for a royal wedding meets the Met Ball, so I'm expecting some crazy high fashion. I want our guests to look back at photos from our wedding and think, "That's the best I've ever looked in my entire life."
Our three dogs will be escorted down the aisle by three close friends, and our two nephews are our ring bearers.
Michael's sister helped us design our second rings, and we created them to complement our engagement rings. As for the rest of our look, we're both wearing tuxes for the ceremony and changing into Gatsby-esque velvet tuxedo jackets designed by our friend Jeff Kim for the reception.
We originally had 700 (yes, 700) people on our list, so we knew he had to cut back. We ended up inviting around 350 people — it's still a huge number, but much more manageable.
There were so many artists we wanted to be part of our big day, but when you're getting married around Christmas, you have to assume that some peope will be out of town. Originally we asked Marc Broussard and Jordin Sparks to perform, but they're not able to anymore. I'm most excited about our first dance — I'm keeping the performer a secret, but I will say it's one of our favorite songs by one of our favorite artists. I will reveal one performance: My little niece is singing "This I Promise You," which is fitting since it's an 'NSYNC song but also perfect for a wedding.
And About the 'NSYNC Guys ...
All the guys, except for Justin, will be at the wedding. Unfortunately, Justin is on tour so he's not able to attend.
And, in case you're wondering, I wouldn't take marriage advice from any of those guys! Just kidding! But I do think it's going to be very easy for Michael and I to adjust to married life since it already feels like we've been married for years.
Stay tuned for more of Lance's wedding-planning chronicles!
