Talk about an unexpected wedding venue! Indiana couple Dottie Coven and Keith Stewart tied the knot yesterday at 32,000 feet aboard a Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville, Tennessee to Dallas, Texas.

You read that right: According to ABC News, the pair, whose jobs require them to fly across the country frequently, traded in their Rapid Rewards points to secure 30 tickets for their friends and family to watch the in-flight ceremony. USA Today reports that this is a first for the airline.

"How many of you thought you were going to a wedding today?," Ana Schwager, Southwest Airline's community affairs-and-grassroots manager, asked Flight 4058 over their intercom system. The question was well warranted, as the majority of the 141 passengers on the flight had no connection to the happy couple, but certainly got their share of in-flight entertainment by way of the creative nuptials.

Earlier this year, Keith contacted Southwest explaining that he and his fiancé wanted to host an unconventional wedding. "Dottie and Keith wrote a letter to Southweat saying, 'Hey, we want to do our wedding, we want to do it non-traditional ... can we get married on an aircraft?'" Schwager told USA Today. "So, of course we loved that idea and knew that we had the perfect flight to Dallas Love Field [Airport]."

Shortly after reaching their cruising altitude, a four-year-old flower girl walked down the aisle and passed out peanuts. Next, Dottie made her way towards the front of the jet in her wedding dress and veil.

"We are gathered here today — whether you intended to or not — to celebrate the wedding of Dottie Coven and Keith Stewart," the officiant said. "If anyone can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together let them push their flight attendant call button now."
