A Romantic Late Fall Wedding in Highlands, South Carolina

Real Weddings

Is there any better place for two die-hard Southerners to get to know each other than at an Atlanta Braves Game? Not for Lauren and Evan, who met at college in Georgia and took their romance to the ball game. "The September weather was perfect, the hot dogs were delicious and the Friday night fireworks were the perfect ending to the perfect date!" Lauren says.

When the two tied the knot years later, they looked for a venue with just as much Southern charm — and found it in the Old Edwards Inn, a gorgeous stone hotel surrounded by lush gardens and winding trails. Their late November wedding featured rustic details, creamy white flowers, and vintage fur stoles. Keep reading to see Vue Photography's snaps of their North Carolina bash!

Lauren topped her dream Romona Keveza dress with a vintage fur stole, and her bridesmaids followed suit with equally glam toppers over their David Meister gowns. Evan looked every part the Southern gentleman in a custom navy Armani tux.

Lauren and Evan exchanged traditional vows against a beautiful winter sunset and in front of a fireplace. "It felt like Evan and I were the only people in the room," Lauren says.

Lauren knew she wanted her wedding's décor to be as romantic as possible, and her sweet, flower-filled escort card display fits the bill. Plus, as they entered the dining room, guests were greeted with a glass of chilled champagne and frozen strawberries.

The weather may have been chilly, but Lauren and Evan didn't let their late November wedding date stop them from filling their farmhouse-style reception with tons of white flowers. Each long table was lined with a runner of white hydrangeas, and Lauren carried a bouquet of fluffy white peonies. And how gorgeous is that lit-up pyramid of delicate champagne coupes?

After their sparkler exit (and plenty of delicious cake, decorated with rosettes to match the silk ones on Lauren's gown), Lauren and Evan left their guests with chocolate popcorn to munch on.
