Lady Gaga Helps Orchestrate an On-Stage Proposal! Watch the Video

Celebrity, Gay Marriage

Lady Gaga is feeling the love! Earlier this month rumors swirled that the singer and her Chicago Fire actor boyfriend Taylor Kinney may have secretly tied the knot, and now she wants to help others do the same. According to MTV News, the singer helped her good friend and fan propose to his boyfriend on stage during the Manchester show for her artRave: The ARTPOP Ball Tour.

In the video seen above, Lady Gaga calls her friend Jay Lomax to the stage where he then gets down on bended knee to propose to Sean Martins. The singer, who is an outspoken gay-rights advocate, seems just as excited about the proposal as the new fiancés are, even running up and embracing the duo in a warm hug.

Before she let her friends step off stage, Lady Gaga serenaded the pair with her hit "Born This Way", but not before offering her own personal congratulations.

"My record label, a long time ago, they told me that my show is 'too gay' and I was 'too gay' or this was 'too gay,'" Lady Gaga said. "I told them, 'Well it's a great thing that there are gay people all over the world!' Real human beings with real dreams and real stories and you deserve to love and express your love the same as everybody around the world... I wish you a beautiful love and happy marriage."

According to TMZ, Gaga had worked with Jay to plan the proposal for months. "Sean tells us he was completely shocked — and it turns out the whole thing had been plotted for months by Gaga, Jay, and Jay's famous uncle photographer (and Gaga friend) Terry Richardson," TMZ reports.

To make the proposal even more special, Jay had Sean's engagement ring inscribed with a lyric from their favorite Lady Gaga song, "Artpop." The inscription reads, "We could belong together."
