You were so busy planning the wedding that you booked your plane tickets and your hotel rooms — and then got wrapped up in the reception details. But, whether your wedding is next month or next week, it's not too late to make sure you have a great trip from the minute you land. Here's how:
Pack your carry-on right.
Airlines always say to put all medications and valuables in your carry-on bag but, if you're going to a resort, you should also pack your bathing suit and flip flops in your carry-on, too. This way, if your checked bag is lost or delayed, you can still go right to the pool or the beach.
Figure out airport-to-hotel transportation in advance.
Whether you're going to a big city like New York or Paris or a quiet beach town in the Caribbean, a little forethought can take the stress out of landing. If you're not sure what your choices are, call your hotel's concierge and ask.
Tell all companies involved that you're honeymooners.
Make sure your resort, your airline, and even your tour guides know you're celebrating your honeymoon — in advance. You may be surprised at how well you're treated.
Backload your plans.
After the intensity of the wedding and then the travel time, you'll want to relax. If you're planning on sightseeing or special dinners out, book them for later in your trip so you can unwind and rest.
Do a little research.
Even if you expect you want to spend the first day relaxing by the pool or snoozing on the shore, do your restaurant and activity research in advance. After all, you don't want to waste a minute of relaxation once you've arrived.
