Everyone was taken by surprise when, after two years of engagement, nearly ten years together, and six children, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally tied the knot. You'd think, though, that while the ceremony was certainly symbolic, not much in their relationship would change. Au contraire! During an appearance this morning on Good Morning America to promote his new movie, Fury, Pitt opened up about his recent nuptials.

"It was an amazing day and I think there's an added security that comes with it," Pitt told GMA's David Muir of his recent "I do" in France.

He also commented on the fact that he and Jolie wanted to wait to marry until everyone — namely same-sex couples — could marry too (just like Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard!).

"That's just a no-brainer to me. That's the basis of our country," he added. "Equality for everyone."

This isn't the first time he's noted a difference in his relationship. Just last month Pitt first spoke about his marriage to Jolie in an interview with British GQ. "I wouldn't say [marriage is] just a title," Pitt commented on his recent union. "There's more to it than that."

The newly minted Mr. and Mrs. Pitt aren't the only two basking in marriage's glory. At the world premiere of Fury in Washington D.C. earlier this week, Pitt told People of his kid's reaction to their nuptials: "They like it," he said, smiling and then repeating, "They like it."

Oh, and about that not-so-honeymoon-y honeymoon, Pitt said it was his and Jolie's decision to work immediately following their wedding. "Yeah, it was our choice," Pitt told USA Today of filming By the Sea in Malta, which Jolie wrote and directed, at the start of their marriage. "It's been fun. It's been challenging, but really fun."
