Bride and Groom First Kiss

For Megan, 24, and Jonathan, 26, choosing a date for their wedding was easy. "My parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were all married on June 27th," she says. "We were thrilled to be the fourth generation to share the date!"

For their own June 27, 2013 wedding, the couple, high school friends who reconnected years later on Facebook, decided to say "I do" on the front lawn of Megan's childhood home, a restored Victorian in Yorkville, Illinois. With the farmhouse setting a rustic, down-to-earth scene, Megan continued the shabby-chic feel by hanging antique windowpanes as a ceremony backdrop and decorating the lawn with natural-looking arrangements of wildflowers and ferns.

Have fun with your wedding shoes
Who says you can only have one pair of shoes for your wedding? Megan couldn't decide, so she bought both of the pairs she was eyeing. She wore a pair of girly pink ballet flats for her ceremony, then slipped into a pair of brown cowboy boots for the rustic reception that took place between the barn and a cornfield. "I'm from the country, boots just made sense," she says.

Work with the groomsmen — and your groom!
While the groom was all for wearing pink (it's his favorite color!), the bride worried his groomsmen wouldn't feel the same. Rather than force the boys to wear such a girly hue, they let them decide! Jon and his guys donned gray Converse All-Stars and pink and gray striped bow ties.

Make your exit memorable
The new Mr. and Mrs. Henderson made their exit in a neighbor's 1960s Chevy Impala convertible. The open top allowed the newlyweds to say their final good-byes to guests from the back seat of the retro ride—and this departure kiss made for a pretty great photo!
