Our 80th anniversary issue of Brides starring newlywed and Victoria's Secret Angel Lindsay Ellingson officially hits newsstands today! And the October/November issue is brimming with useful wedding advice from the moment you say "yes" to "I do."

Along with featuring exclusive photos from Lindsay's South Carolina wedding to Sean Clayton, we're also counting down the 33 most iconic brides ("Eight Decades of Unforgettable Brides," page 128) of all time. And for the bride-to-be who needs some sage planning tips, we compiled a complete list of our best advice ever ("80 Years of Great Advice from Brides," page 374).

Plus, we included a flip side, which features our ultimate beauty guide, including week-by-week countdowns to help you get perfectly glam before your big day ("Beauty Countdown," flip, page 4).

But before you dive into our 80th anniversary issue, take a trip down memory lane and look back at a few vintage Brides covers to celebrate our major milestone!

In the fall of 1934, our first ever issue, seen above, hit newsstands under the name So You're Going to Be Married, before quickly being renamed The Bride's Magazine.

Brides 1952 Issue

Our spring 1952 issue features an illustration of a classic bride, complete in a ball gown with a sheer high neckline. What's old is new again, with this trend becoming a huge hit on the latest bridal runways!

Brides 1955 Issue

In autumn 1955, our cover starred a groom, who was helping the blushing bride cut their wedding cake.

The winter 1958 edition is one of our favorites. The sleek black backdrop and colorful balloons look modern enough to sit on the newsstands now!
