With so much celebrity wedding news making headlines over Labor Day Weekend, it was easy to miss this interesting turn of events: Newlywed Angelina Jolie's ex-girlfriend, actress and model Jenny Shimizu, also got married!

Though her official wedding date has yet to be confirmed, photos of Shimizu and her bride, socialite Michelle Harper, were released on Wednesday according to Us Weekly. The couple tied the knot in New York, wearing amazingly dramatic outfits, with Harper in a voluminous white wedding dress (and a one-of-a-kind bobbed haircut) and Shimizu in a formal black suit.

Shimizu met her future wife in 2012, and recently recounted the story to The New York Times. "I didn't believe it myself until I saw it. It's like so many things about her. There are these misconceptions and generalizations that don't fit this person who is full of spirit and down-to-earthiness."

Her initial feelings of love match how Jolie once described feeling the first time she laid eyes on Shimizu. "I would probably have married Jenny Shimizu if I hadn't married my husband," she told Girlfriends magazine in 1997. "I fell in love with her the first second I saw her."

Jolie and Shimizu met on the set of their 1996 film Foxfire. At the time, the now Mrs. Pitt was married to her first husband, Jonny Lee Miller. She's been open about her surprising relationship with a woman, but since then she's now very publicly settled-down with a man.

"[I was] surprised when I suddenly found myself having these feelings I always had for men, but for a woman," Jolie told Barbara Walters in a 20/20 interview years after her relationship with Shimizu ended. "And wanting to kiss her and wanting to touch her."

They'll always have their relationship — and, potentially, identical wedding dates!
