Off-the-Shoulder Wedding Dress Trend

Love Beauty and the Beast's Belle? Than you'll love one of our favorite wedding dress trends: off-the-shoulder necklines.

A style that inherently feels classic, this ultra-feminine neckline and sleeve style powerfully re-emerged on the Spring 2015 bridal runways. Regal while still being playful, off-the-shoulder necklines are the grown-up version of strapless dresses. It's no wonder they became big this season, either, with one-shoulder and cap-sleeves dominating the runways throughout the past few seasons.

And some of our favorite designers gave the look a modern update. Minimalist mermaids, with its sleek silhouette, feature thick straps, while off-the-shoulder necklines on simpler sheaths feature the fun addition of a little V-neck.

But if you want to go for the princess vibe, there's plenty to choose from too. Thanks to Reem Acra and Christos, lace appliqués on an illusion neckline make for an ultra-romantic sleeve, and soft silk chiffon gowns from the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Jenny Packham, and Kelly Faetanini, feature soft draped off-the-shoulder sleeves creating an ethereal effect. Want to go glam? Consider Carolina Herrera and Casablanca's sophisticated, full-on lace, long-sleeve off-the-shoulder gowns.
