Why You and Your Guy Need to Start Sleeping Naked

When you slip into bed beside your spouse, what are you wearing? This may sound like our attempt at a cheesy come-on, but there's a reason we're asking: Apparently couples who sleep together in the buff are happier than couples who sleep together clothed.

A recent study by Cotton USA asked 1,000 British people what they wore to bed and how content they were in their relationships. The study found that 57 percent of people who sleep naked beside their loved ones were happy, compared with 48 percent of pajama wearers and 43 percent of those who donned nighties.

Surprisingly, the naked couples' happiness didn't necessarily have to do with sex. According to the study, sleeping in the nude encourages people to be more emotionally intimate and open with one another. In fact, the age group most likely to sleep naked were those 55 and older! (Apparently our elders know what really makes for a good marriage!)

The study also took a close look at other sleeping and bedroom habits, and the affect they had on the couples' relationships. It found that dirty clothes on the floor, general clutter and an unmade bed were turnoffs. Couples also listed eating in bed, pets roaming the bedroom and cover-stealing as relationship no-nos.

What do you think? Will the results of this study change how you dress for bed? Will you start making the bed in the morning? Let us know at @Brides!
