Aside from the bride and groom, the mother of the bride might just be the most visible player at her daughter's wedding. Finding a beauty look that's flattering and understated while still being current and chic can make this occasion just about the most precarious event you'll ever have to get ready for. Need a bit of inspiration? Here, we present three gorgeous looks, courtesy of heavy-hitting actresses who know their way around a red carpet or two.

Julianne Moore (above): Moore is one of those celebrities who has that ageless thing down pat. Although she always seems to knock it out of the park, this is one of our favorite looks. A side-parted low chignon, porcelain skin with just a subtle sheen and pale pink lips equals I'm-born-with-it makeup. To get her reflective texture, prep with a deep conditioning treatment and finish with a shine spray. For her bright, glowing skin, try using a highlighter in the corners of your eyes and on your cheekbones, too. While we love absolutely everything about this look — right down to her flower diamond earrings and feather dress — we suggest skipping the white dress this time.

Michelle Pfeiffer: Try a polished take on beachy like Pfeiffer's. Her full, wavy tresses and sun-kissed makeup are perfect for an afternoon wedding. To get her look, go for a hydrating foundation that has a dewy, second-skin finish, a touch of black eyeliner, peachy cream blush and a similar shade of lipstick. Paired with a classic little black dress, Pfeiffer totally has that effortless thing down. Who knew it was so easy to pull off?

Geena Davis: When in doubt, stick to what you know. After all, you should look like the best version of yourself for the wedding. Exhibit A: The actress's pretty, finished style. Even with her hair down and blown out, it says timeless and black-tie ready. If that means wearing your hair down, by all means, do so. Pair it with defined, slightly darkened eyebrows, lengthening mascara, a touch of bronzer and tinted, sheer lipstick. Your daughter will definitely approve!
