In Season Now: 7 Fresh Ways to Use Hydrangeas

Flowers

They might not earn Madonna's seal of approval, but they earn ours — and just about every bride-to-be's! Hydrangeas are a classic summer flower and a popular wedding-day bloom. Not only are the fluffy flowers perfect for creating a romantic, garden vibe, but they also come in tons of colors from bright white and cream to pale blue and antique green to nearly every shade of pink. The flowers, which are ideal for June and July weddings, are super versatile, too. They stand out on their own and look fantastic mixed with other blossoms.

Whether you want to use hydrangeas as centerpieces or on your invites, we've put together a collection of some fresh ways to incorporate the blossom into your big day.

Ceremony Arch (above): Create a dramatic focal point for your vow exchange. Here, florist Karen Woodward of Haute Horticulture decorated a wooden arbor with bunches of hydrangeas and fresh greenery.

Bridal Bouquet: This powder-blue hydrangea bouquet is so romantic. The velvet ribbons wrapped around the stems are the perfect finishing touch.
