Every week, we give our readers a glimpse inside the mindset of a guy's brain on weddings with the help of the hilarious and smart editors at The Plunge. For their first post, they're talking all-things George Clooney and what made the world's most notorious bachelor change his ways. Ladies, take notes.

George Clooney recently proposed to his girlfriend of six months, Amal Almuddin, and instead of just being happy for the guy, all of western civilization seems determined to figure out what the hell is wrong with him. If you are one of these people, let us remind you of that age-old creed: Judge not the Clooney lest ye be judged!

Seriously, you hear this kind of thing from men and women alike: "If you had more money than god, beautiful women lining up to sleep with you, and a fantastic head of hair, you'd never get married." Lies, we say!

If you really want to know why the world's most epic bachelor would choose to give up the single life, stop thinking so hard. It's because he wants to. Don't over-analyze. Men are remarkably simple when it comes to this sort of thing.

However, with respect to our new Brides readers, we'll attempt to break down the male psyche a bit. Rather than focus on what Clooney is giving up, think about what he is gaining. Yes, the living is good when you have more money and supermodels you could hope to enjoy in three lifetimes (we think?). But living good is not the same as having a good life. Ultimately, this is what's behind any man's decision to get married — the unwavering love, companionship, and support that all of us know we need if we're ever going to have a truly great life.

When a man takes The Plunge, it's because he knows deep down in his guts that he loves his woman and marrying her is what he wants to do. No, he doesn't just want to — he has to.

Without a faithful companion by your side every day, experiences are less meaningful, memories are less poignant, dinners are less satisfying, sleep is less restful, the daily grind is less fulfilling, and speaking from personal experience for a moment, the fridge is way less stocked.

The idea that there is one person who will always be there for you in a way that parents, siblings, and employers cannot is a powerful thing. When you find the person you can put your faith and trust in like that, generally speaking the best thing to do is keep them around.

That's why the bachelor life isn't all that impossible to leave behind, even for Clooney, who by the way was never really the true ultimate bachelor. That title has always rightfully belonged to a certain New York Yankees shortstop who is so next-level bachelor that he reportedly gives parting gifts to his one-night stands.

But, one day he'll get married, too, and everyone will want to know, "OMG JETER, WHY??" The answer will remain the same. He wanted to.

Even if they don't seem super involved in the wedding-planning process, grooms are going through the same life-changing experience as their brides-to-be. Enter: The Plunge. The site helps the engaged guy navigate his wedding from a man's point of view.
