One of the most iconic coming-of-age '80s movies celebrated its 30th anniversary yesterday: 16 Candles. The film may be three-decades old, but it's impossible not to relate to Samantha Baker, from her birthday struggles and embarrassing grandparents to her crush on the most popular high school senior Jake Ryan. While following a teenage girl on the cusp of her Sweet Sixteen isn't necessarily the most applicable to weddings, brides-to-be should take note of its ending. Remember that lavender tulle bridesmaid dress (and flower crown) she wore while sitting across from Jake with a lit birthday cake in between them? Of course you do! While her dress's design is a bit more youthful, there are some style elements you totally can, and should, emulate on your big day.
In honor of the film's 30th anniversary, here's how you can make Samantha Baker's bridesmaid look your own.

Monique Lhuillier: The frothy tulle is what makes Sam's dress so memorable. This Monique gown from her Spring 2015 runway is the grown-up version of her dress. Still with a bow and feminine silhouette, the mint green stunner creates a very similar light-as-air yet girly flair.

Marchesa: A big girl interpretation of Sam Baker's dress, this draped blush Marchesa gown is just as romantic, with it's off-the-shoulder sleeve and prominent waistband, but offers a slimmer skirt and Grecian Goddess feel.

Hayley Paige: The beaded bodice and horsehair trimmed skirt on this Hayley Paige gown are a more glamorous and modern take on Sam's bridesmaid dress (in an equally cool, pastel color!).

Christos: Last but not least, Christos's strapless blush tulle gown is the most ethereal option. Bonus: The floral appliqués are a feminine call to Sam's pastel flower crown and bouquet.
